Just a reminder, the CCISD Board of Trustees approved a policy regarding cell phones and other personal communication devices, in alignment with House Bill 1481. We are encouraging students to put their devices "Away for the Day," to focus on learning. As we approach spring break we would like to remind everyone of the law pertaining to cell phones on campus.
Common Sense, the national nonprofit organization dedicated to helping kids and families thrive in a world of media and technology, has recognized Crossroads High School as a Common Sense School.
Crossroads High School has demonstrated its commitment to taking a whole-community approach to preparing its students to think critically and use technology responsibly to learn, create, and participate while preparing them for the perils that exist in the online realm, such as plagiarism, loss of privacy, and cyberbullying. With the right support, kids can take ownership of their digital lives, engage with real issues, and change their communities for the better. The recognition acknowledges our school's commitment to creating a culture of digital citizenship.
"We applaud the faculty and staff of Crossroads High School for embracing digital citizenship as an important part of their students' education," said Merve Lapus, vice president of education outreach and national partnerships at Common Sense Education. Crossroads High School deserves high praise for giving its students the foundational skills they need to compete and succeed in the 21st-century workplace and participate ethically in society at large."
"We're honored to be recognized as a Common Sense School," said Principal Crawley "By preparing our students to use technology safely and responsibly, we are providing them an opportunity to build lifelong habits to help them succeed in a tech-driven world."

Students in the Crossroads Crafting club used their talents and the laser engraver to create personalized Valentine's gifts.

Crossroads High School got a well-deserved refresh this past week. Pressure washing took away years of grime to give our campus a fresh new look.

Did you know that the Cellular car phone, Elevator and Ice Cream were all invented by African Americans?
Other items include the refrigerator, baby buggy, traffic light, peanut butter, electric lamp, corn harvester, guitar, mop, fire extinguisher, potato chips, gas mask and the blood plasma bag. So many inventions we can't imagine life without today.
