Crossroads students used Rogue Echo Bikes, brought in by Mr. Brown, during rec time on Friday. They are cardio endurance machines that test the lungs and legs. The students were challenged to complete 50 calories in the fasted time they could. Many students underestimated the amount of output that was required. While some reached their limits, some students have expressed interest in learning other physical activities to stay healthy.

Community Building at Crossroads High School. Why Not Wear It Wednesday. Staff dress it up. It does not have to be a dress just a little extra something that makes you feel good. Staff are making memories together and showing students that you can spread the joy in little ways. We can see it reaching some of the kids and they have started joining in.

Tuesday night, the CCISD Board of Trustees approved a policy regarding cell phones and other personal communication devices, in alignment with House Bill 1481. We are encouraging students to put their devices "Away for the Day," to focus on learning.

Graphic with image of smart phone and CCISD logo. What is Away for the Day? The goal of Away for the Day, in alignment with House Bill 1481, is to improve learning focus and support a positive, respectful school environment for all students and staff. Away for the Day means that students’ personal devices - cell phones, text-messaging devices, tablets, computers, headphones, earbuds, smart watches and other simlar electronics - must be powered off and out of sight during all parts of the school day, from the time students enter the school until they exit at the end of the day. This includes class time, transitions, breakfast or lunch on campus and restroom breaks.
In this installment of Dawg Tales, CCHS Digital Media teacher Madison Seifert explains the facility challenges students in the district's Career & Technical Education programs face on a daily basis.
